What is new about SomnoGuard® AP?

• Improved wearing comfort due to flatter tray shell and less thermoplastic material
• Greater stability and safety thanks to a thicker screw and more stable C-bar
• Scales on both sides of the tray for easier control of protrusion and application success

What is SomnoGuard® AP 2?

SomnoGuard® AP 2 is a two-piece, infinitely adjustable mandibular advancement device to treat snoring and mild or moderate obstructive sleep apnoea. The prefabricated mandibular advancement device consists of an upper and a lower tray that are each made of two components. The hard outer tray shell made of polycarbonate is filled with a biocompatible thermoplastic copolymer. The thermoplastic filling material becomes mouldable when heated in a boiling water bath. During the fitting process, the material can then be formed according to the individual tooth and jaw formation. Snoring and nocturnal breathing stops can be reduced or even completely prevented.

How to adjust SomnoGuard® AP 2

The part with the guide bar (“C-bar”) characterises the upper tray designed for the upper jaw. The C-bar is the track for the screw head of the lower tray and allows a lateral movement of the lower jaw. By turning the screw with the adjusting tool, a lower jaw advancement of 0 to approx. 10 mm can be infinitely adjusted (depending on the length of the screw used). With the small line markings on both sides of the tray, you can exactly control the lower jaw advancement.
