CURIS 4MHz radiofrequency device by SUTTER Germany
The Curis radiofrequency device can be used for both monopolar and bipolar diathermy, operating in the radio wave range (4 MHz) to achieve more precise cutting, effective hemostasis, and reduced tissue damage; this is because the higher the applied frequency, the lower the tissue resistance to the applied electromagnetic field.
The radiofrequency device is suitable for use in procedures involving the nose, nasopharynx, oropharynx, oral cavity, larynx, and ear, as well as in plastic and aesthetic surgery. It is used to treat nasal turbinate hypertrophy and to shrink the soft palate, uvula, tonsils, posterior pillars, etc., and is also applicable for dermatological conditions. It features appropriate bipolar probes/electrodes for submucosal placement and a wide range of monopolar electrodes (loops, needles, ball tips, etc.).
In more detail:
Radiofrequency treatment has the following advantages:
- Easy to handle by the user.
- Maximum safety for the patient.
- Bloodless, painless and rapid procedure (e.g. palate 9 seconds after anesthesia, concha 5-9 seconds).
- Shrinkage of the mucosa without tissue necrosis (protection system with audible alarm).
- Quick recovery with noticeable results.
The Sutter system utilizes both reusable, multi-purpose bipolar and monopolar radiofrequency electrodes and single-use ones, ensuring optimal results tailored to the specific procedure.
In addition to functioning as a radiofrequency generator, it can operate as both a monopolar and bipolar diathermy unit, thereby providing the user with a comprehensive solution for private practice, outpatient settings, and the operating room.
As an additional safety measure for both the user and the patient, the system features the "Auto RF" function; during the application of radiofrequencies, this automatically intervenes to adjust the intensity of the delivered energy by calculating tissue structure and condition based on tissue resistance.
The RF Select Sutter central unit has the following functions with the corresponding indications:
- Two power output intensity controls with LED wattage displays, for monopolar and bipolar operation.
- It features a rotary control for adjusting the timer, with a seconds display on an LED screen.
- Cutting, cutting with hemostasis, contact and soft spray in monopolar mode.
- Three cutting options (BiCut1, BiCut2, Excise) and three options (Macro, Precise, Ravor) for hemostasis in bipolar mode.
- Indication for connecting the grounding plate.
- Indication of the selected type of unipolar and bipolar operation.
- It features four programs for saving operating modes for different users.
- It features an automatic start and automatic pause option.
- It features an audible warning option.
- Connection points for the single-pole and double-pole cable with handle, as well as the connection point for the grounding plate.
The handles and electrodes available are multi-purpose, lightweight and have an ergonomic design for easy and precise use by the Doctor.
The available handles and electrodes can be sterilized using all known methods.
The device is accompanied by a 2-year warranty, CE MARK and is provided by our Company, preventive maintenance at regular intervals and immediate service (24 hours) in the event of a malfunction.
