DEVICE FOR MEASURING AND ASSESSING ORAL MOBILITY DISORDERS IOPI PRO – Standard Kit BY IOPI MEDICAL, USA
The device is suitable for measuring, evaluating and increasing the strength and endurance of the tongue and lips for patients with oral motility disorders, such as dysphagia, dysarthria and obstructive sleep apnea.
The device is intended for clinical use by healthcare professionals.
The device measures the maximum pressure (Pmax) that a patient can produce in an air-inflated balloon when they compress it with all their strength, with their tongue or lips against a hard surface (e.g. the palate or teeth, respectively). Pmax in kilopascals kPa.
The device can be used to assess the fatigue vulnerability of the tongue by measuring its strength, which is inversely proportional to the fatigue vulnerability.
Endurance is measured by quantifying the time a patient can maintain 50% of their Pmax. This is done in Target mode by setting the target value to 50% of the patient's Pmax and measuring the time the patient can maintain the upper (green) light on.
It has program, maximum pressure and target functions.
It is portable, has an indicator screen.
It has a button to activate the target function.
It has a button to increase and decrease the target pressure.
It has a button to reset the maximum pressure to 0.
It operates on AA batteries.
