The PROPEL nasal stent delivers sustained release of mometasone furoate via a bioabsorbable implant in the paranasal sinuses.

It has a straight guide catheter for inserting the implant.

The PROPEL nasal stent contains 370mg of mometasone furoate (active ingredient), a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity.

The drug is embedded in a bioabsorbable polymer matrix containing poly-(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) and polyethylene glycol (inert ingredients) which provides gradual release of the drug.

The PROPEL implant is composed of a synthetic bioabsorbable copolymer, poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide), PLG. The implant is bioabsorbable and is designed to conform to the size of the postoperative ethmoid anatomy. Once inserted, the implant is designed to be retained by the mucosa of the surgically dilated sinus in order to maintain sinus patency and deliver the drug to the mucosa.

PROPEL provides stabilization of the middle turbinate, prevents adhesion obstruction, and reduces edema.

PROPEL is 23mm high and 50mm in diameter.
